2025 Annual Appeal
“Sarah loves coming out to camp. She just loves being with her friends and the staff.”

A Family Story
Sarah Leighow has been a camper at Camp Victory for nine years, first arriving at age 8 as a participant with Camp Echo. (Sarah suffers from a congenital heart condition known as Tetralogy of Fallot.) Then five years ago, she suffered a brain injury while having open-heart surgery. “Sarah ended up coding and suffered a brain injury,” her mom, Tina said. “The fact that she’s here is quite something.” So, at 13, Sarah also became involved with a second camp, Camp Cranium.
Adding to all this, Sarah has a chromosome disorder (22q Deletion Syndrome), but that hasn’t stopped the now 17-year-old from active participation and enthusiasm when she’s at Camp Victory.
“Right from the start, she loved coming to camp,” Tina said. “When camp is over, she comes back as a happy person. We love it!”
For Sarah and her parents, it’s been a 9-year relationship with Camp Victory that they know has been life-changing for all of them. “(Camp Victory) has had a big impact on our lives,” her dad, Ryan said. “Sarah loves coming out to camp. She just loves being with her friends and the staff.”

We Need Your Support
Campers like Sarah come to Camp Victory each year with diverse challenges. But each comes knowing that for the time they’re here, they can just be themselves—without being labeled or looked at as someone with differences. Supporters like yourself make this happen.
That’s why we’re asking you to help us continue to help Sarah and the more than 2,000 campers and school-aged children who come to Camp Victory each year. Our 2025 Annual Appeal is now underway. Please make your gift today: you can use the contribution form at the bottom, or simply scan the QR code now, and know that your support enables us to continue providing memorable experiences and lifetime friendships for our special kids.
With heartfelt gratitude,
—The Camp Victory Team
