The Nicholas Wolff Foundation, Inc. (AKA Camp Victory) Announces a New Executive Director

December 7, 2023 | Millville, PA

The Nicholas Wolff Foundation, Inc. (also known as Camp Victory) Board of Directors is pleased to announce Kate Stepnick as the Foundation’s new Executive Director, effective April 1, 2024.  Current Executive Director, Jamie Huntley announced her retirement in March of this year but will stay on through March of 2024 to facilitate a smooth transition.

Kate has a long and wonderfully strong relationship with Camp Victory.  She started attending Camp JRA, one of Camp Victory’s Partner Camps, when she was only eleven years old! She loved taking part in this special camping experience until she was old enough to become a JRA counselor in 2003.  After five years of counseling other children at Camp JRA, she was fortunate enough to become JRA’s Volunteer Coordinator for 10 years.  And then the opportunity of a lifetime came when she was selected to become Camp Victory’s Camp Director in 2018!  She has worked hand in hand with Jamie Huntley over these past 5 years and is certainly very well qualified to take over the reins of Executive Director in 2024.  Kate is dedicated to the Foundation’s mission and has built strong relationships with our Partner Camps, as well as the community in large.

“As we began the process of finding our next Executive Director, the search committee knew of the importance of finding a leader who would be able to carry on the mission of our wonderful camp for campers with special needs.  After a long, comprehensive search process, we knew that we had found the most qualified person in Kate.  Kate has already established a long, personal relationship with Camp Victory.  Through her camping experiences and volunteer involvement with Camp JRA at Camp Victory, as well as through her five years of working as Camp Victory’s Camp Director, she has established a high level of relationships within the camping community and the entire community in general.   Kate’s personality, work ethic and experience certainly made her the Board’s unanimous choice,” said Dennis Wolff, Nicholas Wolff Foundation’s Board President.

Kate is originally from Media, PA but loves the Central PA area as a Pennsylvania College of Technology alumni where she received a bachelor of science in Human Services. She also has a Masters degree in School Counseling.  Kate lives in Bloomsburg with her husband John and their 4 year old son JJ.

Prior to starting at Camp Victory, Kate worked in Harrisburg in the mental health field working with children and teens.  Kate also spent many years working at various Big Brothers Big Sisters offices in PA and DE as well as Early Head Start. Kate has a passion for helping children and enjoys bringing joy to their lives in difficult times.

“Over the last 27 years Camp Victory has helped shape me into the person that I am. I have enjoyed all aspects of Camp Victory from camper to counselor and I know the benefits of just being on the camp grounds. I look forward to working with staff, campers, donors, volunteers, and community members to share the passion I have for Camp Victory to ensure this special place exists for years to come,”  said Stepnick.

Over the next four months, Stepnick and Huntley will work closely together to ensure a smooth transition for the entire Camp Victory Family.
